YANGA makes their long-awaited return to Names You Can Trust with two new scorching originals, further building upon a foundation of Afro-Colombian rhythms like cumbia, garabato and zambapalo. Much like their debut release, YANGA channels a new and refreshing take to the many divergent styles within the region, combining the traditional aspects of Afro-Latin percussion, with the dark and delightful energy of the amped accordion, all tucked under the fiery vocals of cantadora Eddika Organista.

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
During the first UK lockdown in 2020, this album took me all the way to the Peruvian Amazon. This album's a great introduction to one of the main players of psychedelic cumbia, Amazon style. Each track's full of sunshine j j headington
Utterly joyous music from Cape Verde in 1984, “Já Bô Corre D’Mim” combines highlife guitars with giddy tropical rhythms. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 8, 2021
